Once you have uploaded the photos you want to insert into your pages, you are ready to add them and format them. (It is possible to insert photos using the JCE image editor, but that will not enable you to insert captions. To insert captions you need to use the Joomla built-in editor.) Here is what you need to know in order to insert photos with captions into your story using the Joomla system:
- Open up the page where you want to add photos. Scroll ALL THE WAY DOWN to the bottom of the page. (It’s a long way!) You will see this:

- Where are your photos? You have to find your correct folder first. To do that, go to the drop-down menu marked “Sub-folder,” find the folder for your class, then find the folder with your name on it. Once you do that, your own photos will appear under “Gallery Images.” Click on the photo you want to insert, then move it to the middle box by clicking the arrow button pointing to the right.

- In the drop-down menu next to “Align:” select whether you want the photo to be aligned on the left, right, or center (with the text wrapped around it). Type your caption into the “Caption:” box. Leave the “Caption Position” at the bottom unless you want it somewhere else. Then select whether you want the caption to be aligned to the left, right, or not at all.

Don’t worry too much about the other stuff unless you’re getting really fancy. Don’t forget to click “Apply”!!!!
* Now I’m ready to insert the image in the text. I scroll back up to the top of the page and put my cursor in the place where I want the image to appear. In this case, I want the image aligned to the left, with my paragraph of text wrapped around it. Then click on the “insert image” icon at the bottom of the text box. Once you do that, {mosimage} will appear where you had your cursor:

* Now save the post. BUT: before you do, be sure you copy everything in the box and save it offline in a text document just in case there is a bug in the system.
* Now I can see how the image appeared in the story. It is aligned left just like I wanted with the caption.
